Can you return Ugg boots without the original box?

I bought Ugg boots 2 weeks ago and would like to return them. I still have the receipt, but the original box was accidentally discarded. The ugg boots have not been worn at all and I happen to have a new Ugg box from another pair of Ugg boots I bought a year ago. I bought the Uggs from Lord & Taylor and I checked their returns and exchange policies and it does not mention that the merchandise HAS to be in the original packaging. Nevertheless, I am still a bit unsure if they will take the boots. Do you think that they HAVE to take it since I have my original receipt and they are unworn or will they not take them because its not in the original box?
