Should groups be allowed to solicit for voter registration?

In light of all of the different allegations against various groups and registration fraud, errors, etc., I got to thinking. Shouldn't voters voluntarily seek out their elections bureaus to register to vote? In many states, you can do it at the DMV, when you renew your license... its not hard. Or, should it be an automatic thing that is required when a person turns 18, or you move? I personally think its a privilege, and something that we as citizens should want to do on our own. I'd love to hear everyone's opinions. Thanks!
