What's a creative brochure design?

I'm doing a science brochure on Huntington's Disease for my science cl. Since I'm working by myself, I want to be really creative. What are some cool layouts? Can you give me links/ideas? It doesn't have to be like one of those layouts off of Microsoft Office, ect. I will be using paper larger than printer paper (8x11) and it won't be flimsy (like posterboard material?)
