Flash player not working????!!!! HELP PLEASE?

I have tried downloading the adobe flash player loads of times but it still comes up with the same error message 'set osiations in control pannel' i have tried changing the MPG files to windows media player but it hasnt worked. Really need help please i am on windows vista xx
