The bible also says that judgment day will be swift and that people will not have time to repent like they did when the earth was being flooded in Noah's time; so devastation by timezone doesn't make sense. Though the end may not come tomorrow or in the next 1000+ years it could just as easily come today, in the next minute or in the next few second. no-one knows when the end will come so the point is to never ume God's plans. Just live a rich, fulfilled life, in accordance with the laws God and in all probability, you'll be fine.
